12/5/2023 0 Comments Eddie v orlandoIt was late evening and we didn’t know what to expect at this times in that new place to explore that evening.so we made our reservations via OpenTable To our surprise the place, even was late, was a pack of costumers and as lively and crowded by happy. of those fully aware of it.not only as a self-proclaimed foodie but as a professional involved in Resort business as a whole Within that esprit, in mind we already enjoyed most of those previous places, high among, our very favorites in Greater Orlando As we were doing some ”errands” in the beautiful Millenia Mall I proposed my dear wife to try ”Eddies V’s Prime seafood”.located in that well known to Sand Lake Restaurant row on Dr Phillios areas. On this never-ending quest for -newer and better- Gastroplaces we just returned from a cherished and long Gatrotour on (almost) all Spain and Portugal.so all our actual expectations were revised and actualized within that context derived from those great Haut Cuisines and countless Michelin stars places from Barcelona, La Rioja, Pais Vasco, Ribera del Duero, Galicia, Porto, Caceres y Sevilla.ending in majestic Madrid Of course we do know our areas limitations on ingredients and mastering those newer cooking techniques.which in Spain Looks formidable, prodigal and endlessly! Each and every place needs to be judged by its context and its circumstances like I'm always doing as one. The worst that can happen, can be, that it let you indifferent or emotionlessness. ![]() ![]() On that top list we need to include Mount Dora’s ”1921 by Norman Van Aken” with Camilo Velasco in that kitchen For us, in our impenitent foodie’s heart, as mentioned many times dining is an Art and, as an Art, it needs to communicate, to provoke and to offer emotions, either good or bad ones. ![]() Most of them are southern, far located, in Greater Orlando areas. Plus “Bull & Bear” and ”Le Coq Au Vin” as our old time french favorite place in whole of Florida. Not to forget, of course, places like ”Victoria & Albert” that holds a soft spot in our Foodies' heart. Again, Eddie puts out a fabulous steak, best around, but we felt like the offerings were served like "oh well, Maginal Dining" and not carefully plated and served.Įddie Vs Prime Seafood Excellence is their key ingredient, let's find out: This one is a long time, due Visit and Review to a Place that is highly rated and located among FAVORITES IN GREATER ORLANDO Our longtime favorites, whenever we are in our dear second home in North Orlando, are topped by “Hillstone”, together with ”Luma”, ”Ravenous Pig”, ”Prato”, ”Luke’s” and ”Enzo’s by the Lake” are topping that list. I understand not having regular full sized desserts during Magical Dining but how about a small piece of cake or pie or something chocolate.I do applaud them for not having cheesecake as so many others have. The adjacent pecan ice cream was a nice treat. The Bananas Foster Butter Cake, while flammed tableside, was lacking in taste and so sticky, it stuck on your teeth. Butterscotch Panna Cotta was too salty and the biscotti mentioned was about 2 inches long. I would invite Eddie to revisit their MD dessert offerings. I understand that is what we ordered and nothing else was to be on the plate but to fill it, separate the steak and add a twist of orange or rosemary twig or something appealing. ![]() Our stakes were cooked properly, however the plates appeared with a pile of mashed potatoes with the steak sitting atop.no garnish, no was not an inviting place and juice from the steak had turned the potatoes red. Also we got the crab and corn chowder which was excellent and not the requisite salads. All in our party ordered the 8 oz filet with mashed potatoes for our entree. Eddie's is a beautiful restaurant noted for excellent service. It took 2 1/2 weeks to get in for our family this year. During Magical Dining month, dining fans swarm to Eddie V's probably because it's so good and so expensive! My family and I include them each year on our MD list.
